You’re Invited! BYOC: Coffee in Big Canoe's Community Garden hosted by Maria Leon
Bring your morning coffee or tea and come for a tour on Tuesday, August 26 at 9 am.
It has come to our attention that some Wildflower Bunch members have not seen Big Canoe’s wonderful community garden. Here’s your chance to see what it's all about on a guided tour. Like most gardens, it is not at its best this time of year with most vegetables finished producing. However, there are still beautiful and interesting things to see and learn about. The strawberries and tomatoes have finished producing; but the asparagus, various peppers and herbs, eggplant, and okra are still producing. The sunflowers are going to seed, but zinnias, dahlias, and marigolds are still in bloom and attracting butterflies.
The garden plots are all taken at the moment, but you may decide to get on the waitlist for one after your tour. This is a full sun garden so you may want to wear a hat.
Click here to RSVP. You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and agree to an included waiver.
Location: Exit Big Canoe’s North Gate, and go straight across Steve Tate Highway onto Hubbard road between Dollar General and North Gate Station. Take a left at the second dirt road on the left. There is a small sign that reads “Big Canoe Fire Department and Fire Training Facility” marking the street. Go about a block and park in the grass on the left hand side of the road in front of the RV parking area.
