In 2023 a group of Big Canoe wildflower enthusiasts set out to survey and photograph the plants growing along the trails and common areas of Big Canoe. While the survey in still in progress, plants captured to date are pictured in the linked pages according to the approximate date of the first bloom.
All photos were taken in Big Canoe. The survey includes plants found in public areas, along streets and near trails including Eagle’s Rest park and the Terraces. Non-native plants are labeled. The month in which each plant is listed is based on an estimate of first bloom (for blooming plants) and may vary with elevation and annual temperature variation. Trees, Ferns, Grasses and Mosses are listed in separate categories.
